One of the reasons that I'm finding my second playthrough less inspiring despite making many different choices - which is definitely the strength of the game (play it your way) - is that everything is in the same place. Some things are on a certain NPC for a distinct reason because it makes sense for the character. Other things aren't. Why is the smuggler's ring or the first set of chain mail, etc. only in that one particular location for every playthrough? It makes the game feel much more linear than it seems like it should be. And much more the same as other playthroughs. A little randomness would go a long way towards keeping the game feeling fresh.
