Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Enabling Cross Saves backs up my saves even if I only play on one platform, right?

I'm just starting playing the game on GoG on PC, and I noticed that Cloud Saves in GoG was disabled. I did a bit of research and found the "Cross Saves" option in-game, which apparently keeps saved games on Larian servers to keep different platforms in sync.

My question, then, is whether enabling this option will back up my saved games even though I only play on one platform? If something were to happen to my hard drive, would enabling the "Cross Saves" option serve as a backup for my BG3 saved game?
