Today i decided to play BG-3 after some time ...
And i went to Sharan place ... since there was lots of them, i decided to use lots of AoE spells ... mainly Cloudkill ...
Boy was i surprised when i find out that enemies casting Darkness (MEANING AT LEAST 4 TIMES PER ROUND IN THIS FIGHT) are erasing my damaging spell completely and forewer. O_o
I mean ...
I can understand that some effects cant exist on each other ... for example any plants and any fire damage ... that makes perfect sense.
But how does magical darkness dispell part of toxic cloud is beyond me. O_o
And what is even weirder, is that when i beat whoever was concentrating on that Darkness ... and it finaly dissapeared ... my cloudkill were still gone.
---
So i thought, okey ... i can live with that ... game cant have two spells on each other, no big deal.
SO i cast Cloudkill on that darkness next round ... expecting game to use last casted spell as main one.
Wanna gues what happened?
NOTHING! -_-
My Cloudkill existed all around darkness, but not inside ... and when i once again beaten whoever was concentrating on it, it only shown perfectly safe zone in the middle. -_-
Seriously Larian, Darkness is just place with no light ... it shouldnt be inpenetrable shield of invulnerability. -_-
---
So i though, okey ... i can live with that, its incredibly stupid, but i can live with that ... all i need is bright source of light to counter darkness.
So i used Sacred Weapon on my Paladin ... you know, the spell that eats your whole ACTION to shead BRIGHT LIGHT ...
And i dare to asume you all know what happened afterwards.
Yup ... nothing again. -_-
Srsly Larian, if this is how you want to go with that, you should just rename that spell from "Darkness" to "you fcked lol".
---
So, i just turned the game off again ...
I guess i will see it in next year or so, before i remember how broken it sometimes is.
