Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems [Arch Linux][Steam] Unable to boot the game at all.

I've recently made the switch from Win11 > Arch mainly due to privacy concerns [Copilot, anyone? No? Don't blame you] and, despite trying throwing everything at the wall, I keep hitting the 'Data validation failed' error.

Currently I'm running it with GE-Proton9-10. I have tried, so far:

• Uninstalling and reinstalling BG3. Twice.
• Trying every. Single. Proton version [this one has had varying levels of "working", some don't launch the launcher at all and some go through but data validation always fails]
• Doing `--skip-launcher` [Steam says it's running, but it quits out after a few seconds]
• Changing the perms to the BG3 directory to `drwxrwxrwx` recursively [this has been the most "progress" so far]

It's weird. I know it's a problem with BG3 itself because I'm able to run games like C2077 just fine [hells, even better than Win11]. I guess it's good my setup's forcing me to take a break from this game considering the 4+ active campaigns I had when I was on Win11 [I have the saves on a flash drive].

I'm willing to do pretty much anything except going back to Win11, including wiping the computer again and going with a different distro.

Here's a screenshot of the error I've been getting. I haven't been able to find any crash logs.

Since Pop-OS alpha released Thursday, I've played and gotten to Act 3 with only one crash (don't remember where). Also plays fine in Nobara.
I haven't tried on Arch itself though.
