Not sure if this should go under "gameplay" or "story" ...
So, I told Rolan&Co to scoot, then I saved Druid Grove (battle with Minthara and Friends), went to Last Light Inn, did not look around much, went to save the Tieflings from Moonrise Towers' dungeons - Alfira's squeeze and Danis. I took them to Last Light Inn and one was distraught to learn that their better half is dead
Never had this before, where could that NPC had died? Could it had been the Winged Horrors?

I think some of the surviving thieflings (don't recall who) mentioned that when they got attacked on the road in the SC Lands, Roland stepped up and helped a bit to allow some of them (and the kids?) to get to safety.
Maybe your actions caused Roland to behave differently in that situation, resulting in more of the thieflings getting deadded.

EDIT: oh, i didn't read your post thoroughly before replying...
Hmmm, yeah, if she did made it to LL, it could be the that she got later murderized during that attack.
But if i recall correctly, when at LL, she used to stand near the edge of the area, not out of reach, but kinda away from where that attack was concentrated, so i wouldn't expect her to get mixed up in it, but it is definitely possible.

Winged Horrors are the only thing I can think of, albeit it seems odd given she's normally moping off to the side away from the action. But I've seen them target some pretty random characters... And when they pick someone, they fly directly to them... Of course, there's also the potential that the "In fear" AI made her run away, into the curse.

The battle at the grove is also a possibility (I'm not sure where she is during the battle, but I wouldn't be too surprised if some enemy could bum-rush the main part of the grove for some wacky AI reason...)

Also, you can never rule out the game borking and just killing a random NPC for no reason. I know I've had Roland die randomly after I talked to him on several occasions...

Bex randomly disappeared for me alongside with Halsin, however, I didn't notice for a long time as this was Durge. I'm not sure what happened to her, as I never found a corpse. The other NPCs do not comment on the disappearance. She did survive the attack on last light 100%, but she was gone by the time I rescued the Tieflings. I never got her cookies. I don't know what it is with this patch.

I mentioned the Winged Horrors in a "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" way, as indeed she is the furthest possible from the action yet still inside the MoonMommy Protecty Dome. Now I have Danis moping at that location.

True, it probably was the lack of Rolan which got her killed.

The game could had dissapeared her, she'd not be the first to suffer such a fate, but Danis comments on her death.
