Dear developers, it might be worth making the enemies react if the player starts placing barrels and bombs near them, as if they were reacting to illegal actions like theft. You place a barrel near an enemy within a radius of, say, 15 meters and he tells you to stop otherwise he will hit you on the head with a hammer (Especially if it is Dror Ragzlin, who would probably hate players with barrels). You can also limit the throwing of things during combat and the transfer of things between characters’ inventories during combat, so that a bonus action is spent. For really hard difficulty, you need to prepare your characters in advance.

I would honestly extend this further.

1) If you start placing barrels explosives around an NPC, they should become aggressive as you are quite literally endangering them.
2) If you start turning off all the light sources in an area, they should start growing suspicious and turning them back on and watching you closer.
3) If a merchant has been robbed while you are present more than once, your approval should start to go down even if they don't caught you just because they are getting suspicious of how they keep getting robbed as soon as you are around.

To be honest, I think the overall merchant setup they have right now deserves an overhaul I mentioned before, but thats outside of the scope of this thread.

This seems reasonable, though, Larian should take care to not make the Free Nere Quest incompletable. At the very least, barrelmancers should be clever in their shenanigans.

The best barrel was also hidden inside us all along. Four words: invisible giant owl bear.
