Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Corrupted honor mode save file

Title says it all: my honor mode save file won't load properly. The game will load the attempt to load the save file, and as the game starts to load in the music and sounds, and right before I can see anything or do anything, the game immediately crashes.

I had just gotten done with the murder tribunal, and after a long rest Jaheria left the party permanently without any dialogue or warnings or what have you. She is still in the camp, but and she has full dialogue. However when I ask her to join, she'll replace whatever party member I have currently, but won't actually join. I had notice that prior to her leaving that she wasn't following me around like normal companions when exploring, but I didn't think anything of it.

So I'm sure it has something to do with Jaheria supposedly leaving the party but not actually. I don't know how to resolve this. Any advise or suggestions would be appreciated.

First thought - run "verify installation"?

is it Gog, Steam, xbox, gforce, playstation, Pc, linux or Mac?
are there any mods, is it single player or multi... are the save game files stored locally [a onedrive or external space perhaps]?

as it sounds like you didn't make any backups my advice is to start a new game

I've done that, as well as reinstall the game itself. Save file won't load, just like before.

Steam for my PC, no mods, single player, local storage. I didn't make any backups because I didn't think to or know how to admittedly.
