i started last evening. [color:"red"] very impressed [/color] i must say. although the new method of learning skills is a little confusing.

all i want to know is: i have a quest which involves informing the dead guy that he is indeed dead. i have saved it before dropping down the pit because i am afraid that i may not be able to get back up. should i have completed this task already??? this leads to my second question. tyhe door that the two guards locks is seemingly unopenable? do i enter back through this door at a later stage in the game and be able to return to the dead guy digging his tunnel. i hope this can be answered without too much being given away.

while i'm here can i ask for directions to a good explanation of learning skills and the display screen. do i learn a new skill in each box or concentrate on a skill in each box???? confused!!!!

Please consult Prison map.
To solve quest about the dead guy you need to go to room 6. A dialogue will trigger.

If you're talking about door 40, don't worry, you'll get back there later.

You will be able to return to the prison, but only much, much later.

If you don't want to check the map, the proof you need to convince Edmond he is dead can be found within the starting cell block. You could have completed it before jumping down the pit, but you can also do it later.

You will get back to that locked door again, with the required key.

With many skills you would concentrate on upgrading the existing skill in its box. For example, once you have learnt 2 handed slashing damage, if you wanted to increase your accuracy you would add the skill points to the existing box. If you wanted to also use a crushing weapon, you would have to learn that skill in a new skill box.

For the Identify Equipment skill, it would not make sense to learn it in more than one skill box, or have more than one character learn it. You could have both characters learn Repair, but it would probably be better to just have one character with the skill, and swap equipment when required from the other.

With magical attacks, there may be some cases where you would want to learn different versions of the same skill. For example, you might want a high damage, high mana fire spell for stronger monsters, and a lower damage fire spell to conserve mana with weaker creatures. Alternately, you may want one pure fire spell and one with fire and another damage type.

many thanks.
there seems to be a little difference in your responses. Raze - you refer to the proof being in the starting cell blosck. if you are referring to the initail room i started in this wopuld be 'room 1' according to the map provided by desdemona. Desdemona - you state that i need to go to room 6 and a dialogue will trigger? room 6 is not room 1.

Any suggestions?

Skill paths etc. clear now. charz

Yeah, go to room 6.
But note that Raze said the initial cell BLOCK, not the initial cell...

if you find the maps tricky try this.

Spoiler : Go back to the starting cell - exit and head south.

You should now have three cells on your characters' left and one cell (it mirrors the cell on the other side of the map) on your left.

Enter the cell on your left - your DK (wimp) should say something about hating rats - so kill them IIRC there are three - one of them will drop a leg bone: pick this up and return to your ghost

Hope that this helps

Oh whoops - acting like a spider farmer - some of the 'lefts' in the spoiler should have been 'rights'

apologies
