Don't get me wrong, the connection between party members is great. However, it only fuels my desire for an even deeper connection. For anyone that's a fan of TTRPGs, the focus is on the party. Quests and loot and fighting and magic, and all that stuff is all well and good, but it's the party that's always the focus. And while the characters are exceptionally well fleshed out, I find myself wanting more.

For instance: Gale has something to say... Alright... Say it... Don't just wait around for me to call your name; this isn't a classroom, and I'm not your teacher. Tap me on the shoulder, and speak. If not, than how about just calling out; "May I have a word?" While this might seem trivial, it would make a huge impact on the liveliness of the party dynamic. Whilst in camp, have a Lae'Zel walk up to you and tell you how foolish she thinks you're being, not just waiting for you to show up at her tent to voice her opinion. I understand this might be an inconvenience at times to be stopped by a party member... But that's the point. Same as with being around the table. Everyone's making plans but then... 'that person' has to say; "Umm... Excuse me..." I just feel it would add more life to the characters.

This one isn't personal at all... Not one bit... Purely hypothetical... But let's just say someone in your party just poured their heart out to you, and you're feeling overwhelmingly jubilant that they've finally come around after sidelining you for so long. But then what? You just have to wait until the next tick when something happens? Really? They just confessed something exceptionally heartfelt, but then they're just going to keep on as usual? Really? Once you've made that romantic connection, things need to develop as though it's more than just a milestone to the next scene. Have them seek out your company more; You share your tent with each other now; when you travel they're right beside you, possibly holding hands; they seek your advice more often (lower DC rolls? New personal quests?). Something... And when this individual continues on just as they always have, it just makes it seem a bit less intimate.

There's my take on the intraparty dynamics that I would love to see implemented. If not with Baldur's Gate III, then I hope with the next title that you all come out with. Cheers!

Having them come to you in the camp would make a lot of sense and should be pretty easy to implement: they already just start certain scenes automatically if they happen while you're adventuring, or the scenes that start when you go to bed. Perhaps they worry that it's taking player agency away to auto-start scenes at camp? This can of course be avoided by starting with "Can I have a word with you?" and giving the player the option to say yes or no.

Some of the other suggestions are perhaps more complicated, but would be nice if they could happen.

Oh how cool it would be if the group interactions were as you suggested!

+1000! That's what was in my fantasies during the playthrough. Unfortunately in the game you can't even hug your loved one during some of their heavy plot points, walking around holding hands is probably too good. In the same Elf Song, it could have been made so that you and your LI could share a bed and have their stuff lying beside it. Or that Tav could choose LI's tent instead of a sleeping bag while camping. It would be realistic and make the game feel more alive.

One life, one love - until the world falls down.
