Just in case there are other people like me out there I thought I would post the highest stat requirements I have seen for any armor items (shield, body, feet, etc..). I am always annoyed when I find an item that I can not use so here is the highest requirements I have heard about:

Strength: 41

The annoying part of this is that all armor items need 40 except the belt which needs 41. Why does a belt require more strength to wear? Your guess is as good as mine.

Oh, but there are other (and better kind) of armor yet available.
I haven't gotten around to post all of it on my site yet (that's why it says "under construction").

A full plate armor (body armor) requires 44 strength,
plate leggings (leggings) require 48 strength

EDIT:
also keep in mind that all those items on my page are BASE items, with no magical properties whatsoever.
Magical properties may increase the strength level required.

FYI, this is the equipment I ended the game with

How did you even get the stats neccessary to use this stuff? It looks like almost every point you got had to go into str and ag.

By the end of the game I was about level 32 I think (160 stat points).
I used my stat points mainly for strength, agility (though this was with not so heavy agility requirements for sharpen).
I had about 15 points constitution, almost no points in intelligence and some points in survival and speed.

Does speed affect attack speed? If it does don't you need a decent amount of points in it if you go sword/shield?

i have a pair of boots that require 58 strength, but other than swords, this was the highest strength requirement i saw, or at least, used.

speed does matter, but not as much as strength and agility. speed is affecting evasion and initiative.
i ran my DK as a fighter, and hero as a bow-azon. i ended the game at 35th + level.
these are undoctored (no potions, no hex edit) pics just prior to the ending. i DID however take advantage of the (help me out peeps) 8-10 permanent potions(???) found in-game and the 21 (i think) holy waters i found.

Hehe
I just checked the armor items that I was wearing just before I finished the game, and the magical gauntlets that I had required 57 strength. None of my other armor items required a strength higher than 50, go figure. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />
