All previous play throughs are void, some had 60 - 80hrs, some had just started with about 20 - 40 hrs. Everything was running just fine, until....

Yeah, had mods loaded up from nexus, nothing crazy, just some dyes, Tav's Hair Salon, Scantily Camp Outfit and some several others but couldn't get the new patch to working right with some of them. Some mods hadn't been updated by the authors yet, I uploaded some and some I didn't because of what was posted in the post tabs.

A bit discouraged really, thinking about this, you hear these developers at Larian say they like the mod community and want to work with them....if so, why are you (Larian) making it so difficult? Why?

I waited a few days to let the dust settle, so today I spent most of the day trying to get all this to work, only to get to this point.... ugh... Just a rant to blow some steam. Will I continue to play, of course, but not today.

I played BG and BG2 way back in the day, and BG3 is just as fun to play and will play over and over, just as I do with BG2. But your execution with mods and the modding community fell short and that's the disappointing part.

I look forward to your next project, some advice if I may, if you're really enjoy working with the mod community, don't just say it, show it via programming and execution. smile

Cheers!

Some mods don't work because the game no longer needs a "mod fixer". You can see it in BG3MM next to the mod name, there are symbols and if it says "Mod fixer" then it needs to be removed. If you can handle BG3 modders multitool or Lslib, then unpack the mod, find the "Story" folder and delete it. Then pack the folder again into a .pak file using the multitool or Lslib and install the mod with Bg3MM . That should solve this problem quickly.

Yeah that's the thing with a patch like this, there's a huge chance some mod creators have been busy with IRL stuff and won't ever update their mods to patch 7. Best you can do is either try out the patch 6 beta through the steam option, or wait and hope all the mods you installed get updated to patch 7.

I'm in a similar boat and haven't been able to make a new character due to issues with the in game mod loader itself, but it seems to be a common issue so it should be fixed soon hopefully!

@Sini are you kidding me BG 3 mm won't even load my game even after two full clean installs. I wouldn't recommend that mess to anyone. Vortex had put that to shame. As for the In game mod manager it might not be bad if 3rd party mods would work with it.
