Is it possible to download a mod normally and then convert it using the BG3 Toolkit to modify it in the toolkit and if so, how?

As far as I know... no, it's not possible. You'd have to recreate the mod in the toolkit, which may or may not be possible.

it's ridiculous what's wrong with laria? Modding support is new on PC and zero questions are answered here in the forum, on console it's coming in the next 2-3 weeks and nobody has any idea. Laria, what are you doing all this for? It's very frustrating, for me it's stillborn on the console and I think on the PC too. Once again a lot of wind for nothing.

Laria question Is the native camera tweak supported on the consoles yes or no. A simple question but not even that is answered. just one example of many.

If the native camera tweak is not supported for consoles then, as expected, it is stillborn. Useless for console players.

Just a heads up: it's not exactly Larian that decides which mods will be available on consoles; it is the manufacturers themselves. Additionally, there are many mod authors who simply do not have the time or energy to convert their mods to the toolkit.

If you truly want to mod the game, you can buy a PC, gaming laptop, or handheld device—whichever you prefer.

I've been playing the game on my computer for a good six months and have been wanting to make mods for weeks.

But if you have a 50% chance, even with the mod tool and the oh-so-great instructions, that a simple class mod will work or won't work because you don't even know when and where to tick which box or flag to select a subclass and it takes hours to figure out why you have to tick where so that the program recognizes that you can select a subclass and you have to make an Excel list of which variants you've already tried so that you don't make the same mistake twice, it shouldn't surprise you if you give up in frustration after 40+ variants because you don't even know which error is causing the program to crash and 80% of new modders ultimately say: LMAA mods and LMAA BG3!
And look for a new game!

Just a Head up:
no idea why but apparently there is a lack of knowledge, the thing that the native camera weak mod doesn't come on the console or on mod.io for PC is a home-made problem from Larian Studios and nothing else. When this mod came onto the market on Nexus years ago, I begged Larian here in the forum to include it in the game 1:1, her hair-raising arguments were nothing more than excuses back then, as it is probably the same today. Larian has it in his hands to change that, Larian has it in his hands to change the rules for the new mod manager so that it is at least possible on the PC, Larian has it in his hands for console players to use this native camera mod only in that to add the game via patch with a setting to turn this on and off, believe me I know enough that it's not rocket science. But what are you doing, making excuses and lack of time as the crowning glory, you haven't had time for that for years.... exactly whoever believes it.
You say if I want to use the mod then I should buy a PC,you know that it only works if you ignore the new patch 7, great news if it doesn't fully work, then everything stays with the old great patch 7 LOL .... without words.
