I never modded, but I have some ideas of items I 'd like to craft. How would a newbie go about to learn to use this Larian tool ?
Guides, video's, tutorials, preferably some step-by-step beginner's guide. Can these be found somewhere ?

Hello future modder. I haven't yet dealt with Larian's own tool and what freedom it offers when modding and whether you can change and upload things there with Blender and PS/Gimp.

Padmee has published some videos about the new tool, I think it's good to check out her guides. smile

Don't be put off, it usually sounds more complicated than it is.

Have fun and success.

Modding is a broad term, so I'm assuming you want to mod armor etc. smile It just depends on whether you just want to recolor things or create completely new outfits from existing parts, etc.

Just ask, I'll try to help if I can and I'm sure there are others with enough partial knowledge. hahaha

My idea would be to try to create a series of rings that have certain visual effects that already exist in the game. I stole this idea from an existing mod actually, but which was never officially released as it was buggy. So I thought this would be a good project to start to learn the official modding tool.
Like a "clean ring" that would remove all grime and blood, like after a long rest. A sweat ring that would make you look all sweaty, a blood ring to make you bloodsplattered, that kind of thing. I think that some other effect could be added, like the bloodsplatter ring could add 1 to intimidation checks, or the clean ring +1 to charm checks. Well, just seems like a fun thing.
But first I need a "modding for dummies" intruction manual. Thanks for the references.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen any real guides for dummies yet. Since I've only been able to mod in the traditional way so far, I can't offer you any help with the new tool at the moment. I can only possibly answer basic questions.

I hope there are guides that are suitable for beginners.

Also got numerous dialogues that were not mentioned in the guide, so I just clicked "yes", as it was not clear what they wanted.
