wild magic sorcerer - tides of chaos has an issue that can make it impossible to cast a spell during battle but the steps to create it are kindof odd

step 1 cast tides of chaos before a cutsene talk
step 2 die in combat as a direct result of your talk choices i.e, pick an option that ends in combat then die without having a party wipe

step 3 talk to withers and pay to rez the character with tides
step 4 return to any combat without doing a long rest

next combat you will find that character unable to cast any spells above cantip i.e, level 1 or above spells will fail

why = tides of chaos glitches but the icon telling you tide is active doesn't show i.e, you have the effect but not the warning icon

note this buff resets on long rest and reload of your savegame
