The Dark Urge's poorly implemented Patch #7 idle/combat voice lines and poor consistency assurance in ACT III are causing the character to spoil the core of its storyline before the player even has a chance to learn who they truly are within the story.

  • The newly added Patch #7 idle/combat voice lines mentioning 'Father' and murdering everyone in 'His' name are spoiling the core of the storyline from the very start of the game, the very force behind the Urge even Sceleritas Fel completely refuses to reveal until ACT III. These voice lines about 'Father' should not be triggering until Dark Urge learns who they truly are in ACT III and especially after rejecting 'Father'.
  • Other than voice lines, a Dark Urge who hasn't discovered their true origin yet also spoils the core of their storyline with several dialogue options in early Rivington encounters through yet-unrevealed story details.

(Zenovia Dawg Spoiler Dump)

  • Zenovia Dawg - The immediate ACT III encounter initiated by walking straight down the hill.

(Klaus & Benji Spoiler Dump)

  • Klaus and Benji - The very second encounter at the circus, in the immediate proximity of Zenovia Dawg.

(Raphael Spoiler Dump)

  • Raphael - Within Sharess' Caress, just before Wyrm Rock Fortress.

(Naaber Spoiler Dump)

  • Naaber - Just before Wyrm Rock Fortress during his Bard imitation.

The Dark Urge only learns about their origin after taking several long-rests in Rivington or upon entering Wyrm Rock Fortress, neither of which occur before these encounters. So proper flags/safeguards have to be implemented to ensure these options and voice lines are only available after the Dark Urge finds out who they truly are.

Support. That's very immersion-breaking and spoilery. It seems like the problem is probably poorly implemented flags.

For the Dark Urge to learn about 'Father' the player has to either take two long-rests in Rivington (if Lae'zel is recruited) or enter Wyrm Rock Fortress, which does not occur naturally prior to these encounters. Safeguards have to be put in place to ensure these spoiler options and voice lines are only available after the Dark Urge finds out who they are.

Perfectly stated. This absolutely needs to be fixed. The mystery behind the DU’s identity is one of the core elements of their story line and after this patch, it’s ruined within minutes.

Agreed. These are pretty immersion breaking. I think before the reveal, the more vague ones should trigger like the "I have such a headache" is fine. Anything mentioning Father should be after the Act III reveal and should cease if you reject him.

I also think Durge's dream reveal in Act III should always result in Jaheira watching over your character as long as she's in your camp, not in your active party. I didn't have her in my party during the dream and thus never got that scene, and she wound up being kinda bugged and I couldn't tell her I was a Bhaalspawn like I could with the rest of my party. Because of that I didn't have the extended dialogue with her.

I noticed also with that Fist investigator during the murders quest, I could tell her I killed my sister before I even had the duel with Orin.

I love Durge and can't go play Tav, there's so much though that should be fixed before Larian stops patching the game...immersion breaking stuff like this and the lack of companion reactivity especially in Act II and III.

I want to strongly support this thread. Please, Larian, these things need to be fixed, the Dark Urge story cannot be left in this state. The situations mentioned in the comments above are totally immersion-breaking, and not only that, but some are outright spoilers.

Two more cases of premature spoilers in Rivington;

(Saer Grotpoll Spoiler Dump)

  • Saer Grotpoll - The protester just outside the refugee donation stand. Dark Urge has to be a [BALDURIAN] race to have this option.

(Valeria Spoiler Dump)

  • Valeria - In Sharess' Caress after investigating Dolor's home and his mother's disappearance.

Moving this to the Technical & Gameplay Problems section.

Just wanted to confirm the team is aware of the bug and they are looking into it!
