I posted this here as it's own thread since I figured it would be more visible, and the original thread I tacked my request onto was titled in such a way that might turn people off from reading it.

Quote
Dear sir or madam,

The Larian office is presently closed for Summer holidays. We will be at your disposal again on Monday, August 2nd.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

Should you need urgent support for Beyond Divinity, please consider the tips given below.

Sincerely,

The Larian Studios team

That was the response to BOTH emails I sent to support@larian.com. The first one included report.txt as an attachment, and the second included the report as the body of the message, using the subject mentioned in the report.

Of course, the message also mentions the following instruction under the section about CD Keys:

Quote
- If the protection still fails, have the protection system create a
report with Disc Two in the drive. Do not press Cancel while creating
this report. Send this report to support@larian.com

I'm not sure how exactly I'm supposed to do that, if it's not supposed to be an attachment and it's not supposed to be the message body. Has anyone managed to get a key from Larian since their summer break (or any other response to a StarForce Pro Version Report), or am I basically screwed, since I can't return the game (except for an identical copy, and I won't be able to do that by the time the Larians come back) and I can't play it?

UPDATE: I'm up to three identical e-mails from Larian in response to my two requests. Not sure if I'll get a fourth or not.

Unfortunately, it looks like you are stuck until the Larians get back from vacation and start going through their email.

Do you have access to a different computer you could try installing it on? That would at least help you figure out if it is a problem with the CD or a conflict with your optical drive.
