I have failed to find anything good in the Warrior combat skill apart from the decent +% precision. Extra damage ? I can waste a skillpoint for 1-3 damage somewhere else, thanks. Critical strike ? A rare chance (atleast if you dont invest seriously) to do 20 extra damage yeaaaaaaaaah. Deathblow ? Nearly never happens and even if I land one, 300 damage doesn't seem that uber late game.

Anyone got suggestions/flames/explanations ?

Stun is nice when maxed, but I never bothered with any of the elemental damage bonuses. At low levels they have a small chance of kicking in, and by the time I could max them I didn't need the help. I avoided Deathblow because it shakes the screen.
With Augment Damage if your character is a male warrior, or you put 1 skill point in for the other characters, then save and load, you will have 2 skill points (same with Sword Expertise). I eventually maxed Augment Damage when I got to the wastelands, trying to use up most of my spare skill points.

If there are other skills you think would be more useful, then put the skill points there. If not, then investing in moderately handy skills is better than leaving too many spare skill points in reserve. Then again, you could try to see how few skills you can complete the game with. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Indeed, some of the more useful skills are of the mage and survivor paths. I'm not saying that the warrior skills are useless. It's just that there are much better skills to pick if you choose the ways of the wizard and survivor.

However, one must not underestimate Augment Defense. This is probably one of the very few warrior skills that you want to max out. Of course, you can always argue that you can get high defense by pumping agility. But if you have all the means, why not push it as high as possible? Some of the higher level enemies can hit hard, and this skill at least ensures that you don't get hit that often.

Or if you like to be a ranger, get a nice bow and max splitting arrows. Seriously, this is an excellent skill. You'll be suprised when you see this skill in action. It's efective against mobs or single enemies. If you know how to position yourself well, all five arrows will go to one monster, causing serious damage.

Weapon expertise is also useful. Other than that, I can't think of any other useful skills in this path. You don't really need them to be effective.
