I was doing great in this game until I completed the proper transaction and received the root. Instead of the game identifying the root properly, it showed up as "Object No. 10625".
I am unable to do the summoning now.
I am wondering if I can send you the saved game to someone in technical support and they can get it fixed up properly and then return it to me? I have tried all the suggestions on here and none work. I completed this portion of the game too far back to want to replay the whole works!

Are you using the latest game patch, check out www.larian.com to see if your up to date?

I had a similar problem but it corrected itself (this is the Kohar Root we are talking about) suggest you try dropping it on the ground and picking it up again if this doesn't work talk to Nixfix again.

Thanks for the tips! Yes, I am using patch 1.45.
I have tried dropping and talking and all the rest of the hints that I see on these boards. I will try again, I think...I have invested so much time trying the different fixes. I just hope that when the folks at Larian come back from vacation, I can send them my saved game and let them fix it! Otherwise it has been a crapshoot and I don't want to go sour on the game.
