i have completed the first DGen in the first battlefield. The second entrance is locked. i take it i need another large gold key. whilst in the first DGen i found some white rags. i wore them for a time untill they were superseeded by superior armour. i dropped the white rags. on realising the importance of the white rags and a note in my diary i endeavoured to find them again. i found them after spending ages trapesing around empty dungeons and went to the chap in the forest at the top. The only option of speach i was given to the question
'have you found the white rags yet'
was
'no not yet'
is it that i have not yet found the correct white rags - if so why did i get a diary entry?
or did losing them for a time affect the quest?
are the correct white rags in a further DGen?
a little help please from a veteran.

You do need to find higher level BF keys in the main game to unlock higher level dungeons in the BF.
If the quest log was updated when finding those white rags, then they should be the correct ones. Try dropping the white rags and talking to the trader again, then picking up the rags. I have not been clearing the BF dungeons, so don't know if this is a common occurrence. Some people have had problems with the BF quests, but not in connection to dropping the quest items for awhile, that I recall.

You should also make sure you are using the latest game patch, which you can get off www.larian.com

i have a different problem, i have the white rags and the wisemans belt, but the 2 people who gave me the quests don't seem to do anything about it when i talk to them, its simply a thanks and congratz. wheres the exp and why is it still registered in my quest log? is this a bug of some sort or i'm i doing something wrong?

Hi and welcome, Runering - can you please tell me, which version you are playing? I recall gamers having difficulties in earlier versions, as the BF traders did not acknowledge a fulfilled quest.

But in reading your post, I'm confused now => they acknowledged (thanks/congrats) and your quest log is still blue?

BF quests normally work like this =>
you get one quest per trader per act(boss monster and/or item)
you do what they want - either they tell you there's a wonderful xxx item there and there - or want you to get one for them - or want you to kill and get
you return => they acknowledge. IIRC, in some cases you keep the item (or in all?) I know about a bow I had to get for one, and I could keep it after getting the XP.

And in 1.44 (that was my main version for BF quests) I had all quests solved and quest XP. Newest version is 1.45 now.

EDIT, forgot:
BUT, this quest was triggered again, every time I moved the bow in my inventory - quest turned blue again. After I changed the act, I did not have it listed anymore - as act change clears.

well i have just updated the game to the latest and still no luck and in fact i believe that there has even been a slight change in item name

Yes, I guess, you had the message "BD has detected a problem with your items, click on yes to fix it? Some items may be changed"? => So, this is the case for your name change? As you had thanks/congrats (acknowledgement already) the patch maybe changed it, as it is a "normal" item now?

BF are a bit buggy - and as your BF was generated before you patched => the next one will be better. I'd just carry on, if I were you.

Where I really would like to have confirmation from other BF cracks => I can keep quest items (weapons/armour) after I fulfilled and reported, can't I? If my bow XP is the same for all others => then you're supposed to keep belt and rags? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />
I'm not talking about potions or statues I have to get - just the stuff, you could equip yourself with.
