My character is having issues with jumping. She seems to stub her toe quite frequently even though the projected path is clear. I have also come across her calculating the path length wrong and used up her movement speed so the jump cancelled. I know this happens in difficult terrain, but this was not in difficult terrain.

Also companions sometimes have issues following when they need to jump. This is on distances I know they can manage, and I have to go into turn-based and control them manually to make them jump the gap.

Have anyone else encountered this? Is it a known thing? I can not remember it being like this before, but maybe I'm misremembering.

Yeah the pathfinding has issues, especially if it involves jumping. The amount of times my characters fell straight down mid-jump (and often to their death) was not fun whatsoever to say the least.

  • If the character has to run somewhere in order to jump, they will often miscalculate their movement range and end up unable to jump anymore.
  • If the character has a clear jump path while standing next to a pillar, fence, wall, door or any sort of terrain, they will often fall straight down mid-jump as they smack into these obstacles.
  • If the character is too close to a wall and has a clear jump path, they will often refuse to jump at all until they're slightly repositioned.
  • If the player tries to jump below the current terrain level (like trying to jump down from the Wyrm Rock Bridge), they will often land on the very ground they're standing on and then clip through it to fall to their death.
  • If the player jumps across gaps out in the world, companions will often not jump across despite being able to (guaranteed to happen at the river crossing a few steps north of Scratch)

I had some cases where a partymember didn't jump, and it seemed to occur more often when I had a bigger party (removing the party limit with a mod). After I noticed that a member was left behind, I could return and make him do the jump. Nothing prevented them from doing so. I think that the reason is the order in which the game makes everyone jump. It looks like (though I have no solid proof) if there's someone in front of the one that the game wants to jump. He skips it. Then the other party members jump, but the one that was skipped is left behind.
