I am not getting any responses in the "Technical problems" forum so please forgive me for posting it here - I am desparate. I just entered Act 2 (just escaped from the Citadel). As soon as I click on the first enemy I encounter, the game crashes to desktop. I have tried over and over with the same result. My specs are ok. I am playing with the latest patch (1.45). Game and patch English version. I have never had this problem with any other game. This problem is preventing me from progressing any further in the game. Please help. Thanks

sounds like you have definately got some corruption somewhere.

I suggest you try deleting the files in the dynamic folders;
'..\Beyond Divinity\Acts\Act1\Dynamic',
'..\Beyond Divinity\Acts\Act2\Dynamic', and so on

These are temporary Cache files, and deleting them can sometimes resolve corruption issues. ONLY delete the contents of the "DYNAMIC" folders. If in any doubt, copy them somewhere else to be re copied if reuired.

If that doesn't work, you may try an earlier save, but how far back you will have to go is anybodys guess.

Is this happening at the start of a new act?

OOPS, yes it is at the start of a new act. I had a similar problem in Divine Divinity. I kept loading the pre act change save, but it made no difference. As this was my second time playing the game, I couldn't be bothered to try older saves, and abandoned it. Its all a matter of how far back your preparred to go, in the hope that it wont recurr when you change the level.

I just had this same thing happen in the game "Painkiller." Every time that I tried to load any saved game it crashed back to my desktop. If this helps here is what I did. I made a copy of my "Save" folder and placed it into a temp file. I then did a complete uninstall of the game and reinstalled it, and any patches. I then copied the "Save" folder from the temp file back into Painkiller. Now it works fine. I know I am talking about a different game, but perhaps that will work for BD as well.

Don't do today, what you can put off till tomorrow.
