Do you think Larian would give me a previous version of BG3 (GOG Mac version prior to Patch 7, as this was the last version that worked for me) ?
I've received no response from GOG support (waiting for over 3 weeks now) or Larian (1 week now).
Doesn't gog galaxy allow you to install older versions of a game? I think there used to be a feature like that, I haven't used galaxy in long time though.
Not for the Mac or Windows versions on GOG, maybe Steam does?
To be clear, I did not mean the gog versions of games that you can download, but their gog galaxy client:
https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/ar...previous-version-of-the-game?product=gogI now play on GFN, so I don't know if this still works.
OMG Thank you for this!! I wish I had this like 3 weeks ago!! hahaha. But GOG support never got back to me and I couldn't find any other way of rolling back via google searches.
It lets me roll back to version 4.1.1.4953010 (7 months ago) and a couple of versions above that. So I will definitely install that and back it up.
On another note:
Yesterday, I received an email reply from Larian, saying I have to wait for the dev team to look at it and they prop won't get back to me directly and couldn't not give an ETA. Just watch for new hot fixes and see if that fixes it. (they didn't know about the GOG roll back otherwise they would have mentioned it).
So I bit the bullet and updated to Sonoma 14.7 (as I have the full install handy) and surprisingly, BG3 worked! then updated to Sonoma 14.7.1 and yup, still worked! So looks like Larian have unofficially dropped support for Ventura or introduced a bug causing it to not run.
Anyways had to spend money and update some of my older software to support Sonoma (a pain as I wanted to get at least another year out of using Ventura).
But at least it is running now, but I've seen some reports of Mac users having issues with the newer version slowing down in some areas of the game. If that happens I will run the older version.
