The teams at Larian will soon be settling down for the holidays, and mod curation for consoles will then pause until they’re back in action next year.

Yeah, but will they fix the problem blocking all race mods from being accepted first?

That's.....genuinely awful. Its a literal button to add them, and we now need to wait ANOTHER FEW WEEKS just for more mods.

Salo’s post here includes a vid that explains more about what it takes to add mods to console. Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound as simple as pressing a button!

It doesn't look like it takes weeks either, fortunately.
So where are they?

The holidays are over, so when will Larian be back in action? And when will they fix the problem with race mods?

Lots of organisations wind down over the holiday fortnight and will be starting to get back to normal from Monday 6 Jan. I don't have any insider info on this, but I'd suggest giving it until next week to see if there's an update.

I don't have any insider info on this, but I'd suggest giving it until next week to see if there's an update. We barely get 7 mods a week, have been left dry for multiple weeks, and now your trying to excuse a process that could easily be automated. If this is the future of BG3 modding then console players may as well give up.

I should make clear I am not trying to excuse anything: I am not a Larian employee and have no insight into their processes for mod approval beyond that which they shared publicly and which I linked above for info for anyone who hadn't seen it. I was just pointing out that it is still the holiday period, so not altogether surprising that we've not had a post-holiday update yet.
I and the other moderators are simply ordinary forum members and fans of the game, and our only official role is to keep discussion in line with forum rules. Which include keeping things civil and respectful and not berating others for any reason. By participating here, we're all signalling we're up for debate on those terms, so let's not let frustration lead us into picking arguments.

If this is the future of BG3 modding then console players may as well give up. Automated only if mods aren't causing crashes, which the race mods were. I'm more wondering if they're ever actually going to prioritize fixing it. They prioritized people who had over 100 mods over fixing the race mods causing crashes on console. Playing as different races gives way more replayability to the game and adds more combinations possible to try out between races/classes/subclasses/etc. I've been pushing for it on here for a while now. There's a Shadar-Kai mod that looks really cool, but I only have the game on Mac and Console. The more variance of starting and dialogue options, the more ways to go back and play all over again, but it doesn't seem like that's something that's cared too deeply about at the moment.

Still nothing after the two weeks.
I'm genuinely wondering if they just gave up at this point and see it as a low investment, because otherwise there's zero reason we're getting such an abysmal pace to work with.

It is still the first Monday back after the holiday period and I’d expect folk have just got back to work today. Perhaps give them a few days to get back up to speed after their break? I know the general public aren’t waiting on me doing my job as folk are on the Larian QA team, but it’s also been my first day back after the holidays and I’ve had to spend most of it catching up and taking stock of where I was before the break and organising and planning upcoming work and I’d imagine it’s the same for the Larian team. They’re only human!

Red,there are 3000+ mods on the site, and we do not have a fraction of them available ON TOP of race issues which have yet to even be looked at concerning them.
I'm not trying to be a whiny bitch here, despite how it comes off unfortunately, but this level of "just wait" is bordering on mocking. There are obviously mods that will never be available/require on fix,but we have had mod authors just denied and tossed back in que after months of waiting plus zero announcement on when they bother adding them.It is not my responsibility as someone who payed for the game and was told "mods are coming" to just sit down and be patient after months of waiting for multiple mods to be approved.

I’m afraid I am simply telling you all I know, namely that the Larian team were taking the festive period off and today is the first day many of them will be back, from which it’s reasonable to deduce that it’s probably going to be a few days before we see any real movement.
I know you want more but unfortunately I’m not the person who can give it you. I have no insight into what’s going on with console mod approval more generally as it’s not related to my role as a volunteer moderator on this forum, and as a PC player who has played only the vanilla game to date I don’t have any relevant personal experience that would enable me to contribute to the discussion as a forum member.
Having said all I can on this topic, I’ll duck out of this thread again now unless I need to come back with my moderator hat on. Folk who are frustrated are welcome to express that, of course, as long as they do so in line with the forum rules that we all signed up to.
