I'm trying to capture Minsc, alive.

I knock him out but he then 'dies', Jaheria gets all huffy and Boo overwhelms me with Sad Squeaks

Do we have any ideas?

Maybe add on issues?

if he take damage [like from fire on the ground for example] then yes he will die

Luke Skywalker: I don't, I don't believe it.
Yoda: That is why you failed.

Last time i tryed this i was betrayed by my own gear ...
Not sure if this still works this way, since it was few patches back ... but in my case, i observed later that if you trully want to use non-lethal attack, you cannot give any damage on top of your basic weapon dice.

So if you have any item that gives you another +1d4 or +1d6 or w/e ...
Especialy elemental damage!
(I think it worked with Sneak Attack and Hunter's Mark ... maybe bcs its all the same type?)

They die.

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown
Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are! frown

I agree with the previous speakers, summarize and add the following:

Non-lethal attacks fail if one uses...
...surfaces
...melee dmg with DoTs like bleeding, fire etc. pp.
...ranged attacks including spells
...shoving from elevations

As for pure additional damage from elements that is not considered a DoT, I cannot say. Likewise Hunter's Mark with melee attacks? But then it would be buggy or the system doesn't distinguish well enough what is only additional damage but not a DoT. In conclusion, as RagnarokCzD recommended, any additional weapon buff should be avoided to be on the safe side.

Do I need to have had Jaheria in my party, for the assault on Moonrise?

The bg3.wiki is quite helpful for future questions, but be aware of spoilers: https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Minsc

I'm not sure if anything has changed today specifically, but the last timeI had pacifist mode damage riders would not kill and melee attacks against a KO'ed target dealt 0 damage(with pacifist mode on). Ranged attacks, magic, and DoT effects still killed though.

She needs to be there the moment you KO him.
