After having played for probably 3 hours straight without any issues (and without any crashes like this while trading, ever... not on patch 8 and not on any other versions I've ran since late 2023):

End of Act II, after the Myrkul fight and while on the way to that last Gith fight before leaving the map, I popped by the House of Healing to trade with the undead nurse. Gotta take advantage of those Shar-buffed 25 CHA.

While adding wares from my inventory into the barter screen, the game crashed on me with no error message or anything. Just straight back to desktop.

Ran SFC, just in case, which did detect errors and fixed them (but don't ask me what those were as I've no idea how to interpret the log-file).

Rebooted the PC, tried the same thing again and the game crashed under the exact same circumstances - while trading with the sister and manually adding my items into the barter screen.

Ran SFC again after the second crash and it didn't find any errors this time.

I should probably add that I'm on the latest NV-drivers (576.02) which have been reported to cause issues plus they were reluctant to even install properly - which was before I heard about them being potentially problematic or I would've held off on the update. Though I can't say I ran into any other issues with those drivers, neither in BG3 nor in other games.

Win 11, RTX 4070 Super, i7 14700KF, 32 GB DDR4 RAM. All drivers/BIOS/etc are up to date and the PC runs very reliably otherwise.

As did BG3 before patch 8. I think I had another crash the other day with patch 8 though that one happened right as I had loaded the previous night's save without me having even the chance of generating any input.

EDIT: (Possibly) avoided the crash by only buying from that trader (for gold), not trying to sell anything. Went to play for another 3 hours or so with no more issues while trading/bartering my stuff to multiple other vendors in Rivington. So it kinda, sorta looks like only that particular transaction with that particular trader caused the crashes.

Now that you mention it, I remember having a weird series of crashes while partying in the Waning Moon that I could never reproduce afterwards. What I can't remember, is if it was related to trading, or if you can trade with Thisobald in the usual way at all.

I don't see how. In all my play-throughs, getting relatively close to him will automatically start the "Tav sits down at the bar"-sequence of events. Though perhaps this is different when you approach him from a different angle? I'll always take that ramp down from the first floor that leads directly to the bar/Thisobald. Plus I don't rightly know if the in-dialogue trade-button is clickable with him or not.
