I’m not a modder and I have not yet used any BG3 mods because the installation process seems rather complicated (for us non-programmers). I would really like to use mods since I’ve played several runs of the vanilla game. Is anyone working on a user-friendly mod installer akin to Vortex? Something that makes mod installation easy for those us who don’t understand the programming and file manipulation side of it.

The BG3 Mod Manager is pretty simple. You just open it up, tell it where your BG3 game data is located (You only have to do this once). Then click "Import Mod" and select the .pak file you downloaded from a site (You download a zip file, then extract it and inside will be a .pak file) and move it into the active mods section and click export mod order.

Alternatively, there's also the in-game mod manager that you can use to install mods. Just find a mod you want and click apply and away you go.

The difference between these methods is that the in-game mod manager only features mods that are from mod.io, ones that have been approved for console release. While BG3MM allows you to use mods from places like Nexus Mods.

Just want to add that you don't have to extract a .pak from a zip file for BG3 modmanager. You can directly import the .zip file also.

In my investigation into finding an easier way to install mods, I did set up a mod.io account and even subscribed to a few mods that interested me but I never found a way to actually install them. I’ll have to look again. Thanks for that info.
