TLDR : After arriving at Moonrise towers, the two guards halt the party and scan Tav's mind, we pass the test and they let us in. Then when the dialogue ends the camera shows the party but before any action is possible, the guard dialogue starts over. And this goes on forever. Saving, quitting the game and reloading continues the loop.
It is an atypical game scenario, so the details follow below. I'll put them in spoilers.


I've done so many PT's already, but can't seem to get enough of the game, so I was trying something different now : Bypass the entire goblin army from act 1 and move directly to the risen road and further to moonrise towers, curious to see if Minthara would be there or not.

SoI picked up Wyll in the grove, Karlach on the risen road and head west, past rosymorn trail to act 2 (challenging fight witrh the Githyankki patrol and the death shepards with a lvl 4 party and only basic gear, but I had a party of 6 to get through it : Tav, Gale, Karlach, Astarion, Shadowheart and Lae'zel first, but then Lae'zel left because we didn't want to go to the creche and she was replaced by Wyll.)

So Karniss guided us to MT. Upon entering the bridge, Mizora appears to demand the release of Mizora's asset. Then we get to the guards and fall in the endless loop.

I could get out of it only by choosing the dialogue option to attack. After that fight I needed a long rest and found a dead Halsin lying in my camp.

So I don't know if this loop is occurring because of the unusual path that was taken, or because of the path combined with the party limit begone mod. I've done "normal" PT's with the same mods I have and they didn't have this effect.

So, just mentioning it. Now the guards are dead, I'm curious what will happen in MT after my long rest.

Now this is new. I've done the "ignore Druid Grove versus Goblin Camp busines" many times, and never had this. AFAIK Halsin should be
dead in his Worg Pens holding pen

Never had the endless dialogue loop either. But I usually play HM (without mods).

Thank you Buba68. Here is a followup .

After killing the guards, all the MT denizens were hostile. Even though that fight leveled me up to lvl 5, I reckoned it would be impossible to defeat them all in that state. So I went back to an older save. Before we entered the bridge. Mizora reappeared, Now I just agreed to do her bidding without asking to liberate Wyll, and after that, the loop did not occur anymore. So I could get in, and free Minthara who was there (hanks for the info Buba68).

The previous time there were also exlamation marks on Wyll and Karlach, probably to followup on the Mizora dialogue and the successful request to end the pact, but now these weren't there. Maybe there were just too many dialogue options stacked that made the thing go wrong.

I could talk to the dead Halsin in camp, but all he could tell me was that the tadpoles were ambedded in magic and that the source was in Moonrise Towers. So maybe, this is why they make him appear in the camp if you avoid him in act 2. To give you that info if you use speak with dead.

Oh! Never had that! Fighting 0on the ier did not agro the rest of the castle.

If you want to skip the checks necessary to free Best!Drow, kill the Inquisitrixes BEFORE going to the throne room.
