Patch 8 is supposed to be the last "major" patch, but I'd like to see some small changes that can add to the longevity of the game and add a lot to the gameplay. First of all, I'd like to see the remaining bugs fixed. During my current playthough in Patch 8, it seems like I've experienced more bugs and crashes that any other version of the game. For example, some mines blew up in the underdark next to a rope ladder than you can climb. The ladder was destroyed and I tried to jump to the zhentarim storage area. My WHOLE party was stuck in place when I tried to jump up there.

I'd like to see 'lone wolf' from DOS 2 be added to BG3. It would make playing with only one or two characters viable for the average player. It should be more balanced, because lone wolf with two characters in DOS 2 is very OP and make even honor mode trivial. A playthrough with only one or two characters can be refreshing.

I'd also like to see the gold in chests and quest rewards SIGNIFICANTLY increased. If you loot every single chest, do all the missions that reward gold and have very high charisma, you should be able to buy most of the weapons, armor and equipment you need. Instead, you can buy barely anything with all that gold. The game basically WANTS you to steal.

Your last point is surprising. I've done many PT's now, the last few with an extended party (6 to 8) who need even more armour and weaponry, and I've never really fallen short of gold. My current PT has arrived at the Morphic pool, so I have all the items I need and want and still 13.000 GP in cash. I did not steal or pickpocket any gold or valuables. Just accepted rewards, found or looted, and sold items of value, and bought the items I wanted in return.

I just want some goddamn formation control for the party at this point.

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

I think after a critical failure early in Act I, I didn't try stealing until late into Act III during my first playthrough and still wound up rich in Baldur's Gate. At one point I rediscovered over a dozen suits of looted non-magical armour I had stashed away in an Act II camp. Those sold for over 300gp each after the battle of Reithwin.

One of the things I want them to do is to actually buff spellcasters.

It's widely known that Martials are straight up stronger than spellcasters in this game. Patch 8 basically doubles down on this with Hexblade and Bladesinging. Both of which become flat out better than the other subclasses due to being able to abuse Arcane Acuity. Add onto the new cantrip Booming Blade and they become busted.

There needs to be new spells that AREN'T available on scrolls so that casters have some sort of advantage over martials.

There are no counterspell scrolls, and that spell has really saved the day for me in some fights. Your fighter may have the strength of a giant, and a special blade, but when they're "held", charmed or in a cloud of darkness, that counts for little. Even worse if dominated and confused where they would attack their own partymembers.

I feel this is a question of whether you favour raw power or enjoy tactics. If you design all your characters in a way that you finish the fight in round one, you probably like explosives even better than the Martial classes. Personally, I like my wizard for all the reasons, and think the only buff he needs is two levels of something that makes good use of bonus actions.

As for the money, there's a difference if you have a charisma character who has been on good terms with every trader since act 1 and one that wasn't min-maxed for wealth, but as long as you sell every heavy armour you find, you aren't poor during endgame either way.

Counterspell is a great counterpoint but the reality is that some martial builds will literally just use ranged attacks to kill spellcasters. Making it unneeded if the enemy spellcasters are already dead.

Raw Power and Tactics are part of each other. It takes knowledge and strategy to be able to defeat enemies as fast as possible. Explosives are unneeded.

That's why Bladesinging Wizard is the best overall subclass for Wizard cuz they can use their melee build to attack multiple times to build Arcane Acuity then use the Band of the Mystic Scoundrel to cast Hold Person.

Hexblade Warlock is now the most dominant subclass for that caster as well. Instead of fixing spellcasters to be on the same level as martials they just give them martial subclasses so they can abuse the same stuff.
