I've blamed this problem on other things such as not talking to Yenna in camp, but it seems the problem might be location based. If I attempt to save, or trigger an autosave in a particular location, roughly along a line running between Sharess Caress and Fraygo's Flophouse, the save always fails and the error message appears. Moving away from this "no save zone" and a save will be successful. Making an extra save just before entering it will also solve the problem.
