Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems honor mode game keeps crashing when entering act 3

I am in honor mode and my game keeps crashing when entering into act 3. Screenshot is my party on the road to BG.

Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Its going to suck losing honor mode because of a bug.

I have tried computer restart, updating drivers, long resting, resaving, going and doing other things then trying again, verifying game files. =(

Side note: this is a vanilla BG3. I have no mods.

ok you are in the shadow-field so no thats not entering into act 3 yet... its more of a act 2.5

there is a known bug that stops game play if you changed romance partners during act 2 i.e, if you where romancing Shadowheart but then got the eyes from Minthara that breaks the game moving on because there is a scripted event designed to happen as you rest in camp just after leaving the shadow lands and it can't fire because your old romance [Shadowheart in this example] gets upset and wont talk to you

1 Did you solve the shadow curse i.e, is the shadow lifted animation playing after you leave that area?
2 is the nightsong alive or dead... also is her cleric romance with you?
3 have you made a backup of your saves for this game i.e, honour mode is one save by default so make a save to hedge against bugs


assuming you don't have back ups there is one work around you can try; return to moonrise towers and do a full rest... sometimes that allows what ever character wanting to talk to you to get that out of the way before moving on

p.s, yes if you get this bug and don't have a back up or that work around doesn't clear it then your honour mode game is over
