I've noticed some changes in the patches that removed some stronger elements of the game. After patch 7 a conversation between Gale Origins and Minthara was removed. This conversation aligns well with Gales Origin quest when romancing Minthara. Whereas now she rambles about the absolute and her commenting on Gale blowing up. This conversation is trigger after retrieving The Annals of Karsus.
Original conversation patched out of game
ConversationSome other odd issue's. If you become God Gale and have Minthara romanced at the end game party. Minthara will be disinterested in Gale being a God. That type of outcome seems at odds with Minthara's character being her character is extremely ambitious so you would assume a positive interaction with God Gale romanced with Minthara. Simple solution is just swapping in the romanced Minthara end game party conversation.
This also points out some strange elements to Origin playthrough vs vanilla. You would think something like Gale Romance Ending would be applied whether your play as Gale Origins or as Tav, but currently the Gale Romance only works with Tav and not Gale Origins.
I wouldn't no myself, but I'd assume issue's like this is spread through out the entire Origin and Companion relationships where characters don't respond in an accurate representation of the character. Most of these issues stem from not having proper dialogue sequences triggered. It's not as complicated as needing new writing and VO, but instead just an overhaul on which conversations are triggered.
Probably beyond the means for Larian to patch. I'll probably mention on the mod forums if modders might think of doing a Origin/Companion overhaul mod. I honestly wish some of these massive upcoming BG3 mods would work on overhauling the vanilla BG3 game rather then introduce new content. Just seems to be some lack of polish on the mainline character interactions.
One last small issue is Minthara's mouth doesn't move when you speak to her in the final battle preparation room.
