The Magic Mirror you find in the abandoned house in the first (starting) town can be used to dupe a healing gem to solve a quest. To use it, first place the mirror in a puddle (look for your reflection to find them) until it dissapears. Then put the healing gem on top of it.
Not sure on the second one - funny but I came here to ask about it and two other things.

Hmm, this 2nd mirror: did you by any chance buy it from El'Gammon, the trader in the Blue Boar Inn? Kiya

Actually, if you buy all 5 useless items and talk to him again, he will teach you a level of Trader's Tongue. The 5% discount on purchase will more than make up for the price of the items if you buy a couple charms or a few spell books.

Not really down the drain - if you buy all his junk then he teaches you Trader's Tounge.

So how do I use the mirror? What items can (supposed) be duplicated with it? So I can show hom the mirror was a fake.

The healing gem from the shrine next to Goemoe's house can be duplicated with the magic mirror from the house in the north of Aleroth. If the healers have already moved to the Blue Boar inn, it is probably too late to save the soldiers. If not, just drop both mirrors in the large puddle south east of Goemoe's house (one will disappear), then drop the healing gem in.
If you have both mirrors (click on each), you should get the option to tell El'Gammon the one he sold you doesn't work.

![[Linked Image]](http://kiya1.via.t-online.de/images/Div_Mirror.jpg) The correct mirror for duplicating as Raze decribed just says "Magic mirror", no further description. Kiya

I know this topic is kinda old, please forgive me
One question... what if you were to accedentilly use the only healing stone on one soldier without duplicating it first LOL Should I just start fresh with a new game or is that quest not that important?
Thanks

Then you can only heal that one. And so you've busted the quest.

It is a minor quest, so there is no need to start over. One of the patients would have given you a potentially nice ring when you got to Verdistis, but I don't remember which one, and don't know if he still would if you only healed him.
