I have been playing Divine Divinity for the 2nd time as an Argyraspid, heavily-armoured Spearman and just have some questions to pose to you, oh Veterans of DD: -Which is the best one-handed staff-type weapon in the game (Spear, partisan...)? I have an impression that one-handed spear inflicts much more damage than other onehanded weapons (the maximum damage of the Sword of the Gods is only 70--excluding personal improvement). At this moment, my Argyraspid wields a Partisan with 110 maximum damage (I am at level 18)? -Where is the Farmland Teleporter site? (I have found all others and I have to say that running through the huge farm land area makes my Finger very wearisome) -Where is the Gauntlet of the Dragon? (as you already see it, I have found all the rest) Well, thanks in anticipation By the way, I have encountered a serious bug: If I talk with any one in the main map (Ralph, Marian...) about Verdistis and engage in a quest concerning Verdistis BEFORE I get there, when I do get there (for the first time), the whole map is opened, I can not make a Save, and any cutscene will freeze the game. Have any of you met such a problem?

I stuck with swords and bows. The best damage on swords that are consistently in the game is 70-100, though people have purchased/found random swords with a maximum damage of 110, that I recall.

The farmlands teleporter is in a field mostly covered under bundles of straw, just north west of the Blue Boar inn.

The Dragon Gloves are south of the elven village, in the southern pyre by the first set of steps in the burial grounds (about where you get the cut scene of the area being vandalized).

Check the number of files in the saved game folder (in '..\Divine Divinity\Run\savegames'). A new game should have 22 files, after going to either Verdistis or the Dark Forest it should have 27 and after going to both it should have 32.

Different file extensions are associated with different areas of the game;
.0 / .x0 = Aleroth, Ars Magicana, etc
.1 / .x1 = Verdistis, Council Hall
.2 / .x2 = Dark Forest

It is possible that some *.x1 files got carried over from your previous game, and are incorrectly in saves before you go to Verdistis (if so they can be deleted). Perhaps talking to someone about Verdistis updates these files (or triggers the game to include them), causing a conflict when you go there for the first time.
Two people have had files from the previous game carried over to the next, that I know of, possibly from corrupt files in the '..\Divine Divinity\Run\Dynamic' folder (the files in this folder can be deleted, the game recreates them as required the next time it is started).

Staff or spear? I'd take a guess at the Trident of Atlantos being the best spear available. I can't recall any amazing staffs, but then I wasn't really paying attention to them.

I'd be curious how your game goes. Are you using Boomerang?

Many thanks, Raze, for the Farmland Teleporter. I think the best solution to deal with that bug is to Marathon (From Rivertown to Verdistis then to Black Forest, activating Teleporter sites on the way). Well, at such a low level, the stamina is pitiful, the constitution is comtemptible, but this choice is better than deleting many precious Savegames.
HandEFood, I made a mistake between Spear and Staff and to my surprise, that very mistake shows me an odd fact that there is no way to improve the ability to wield a Staff. Anyway, I have found no worthy Staff (or Cleaver, bandice..).
Fighting with Spear (especially with a Tower shield) is extremely aesthetic, sadly though there are not so many good ones. Harpoon of Atlantos (of El Shrimpo) is worthless (maximum damage is 24). I get stuck with a "crack partisan" (110 maximum damage) to the near end of the game until I looted a Partisan of Forst and Vampiric Lord from the dead body of a Dragon Rider in Wasteland. It is easily seen in DD that any weapon with Frost and Life Drain is no doubt most desired ones.
By the way, why should I use Boomerang when I can throw my spear?

I saw a few nice spears but didn't pay close attention. I just finished with a 1-handed [nocando] sword doing max 106 damage that I bought from the dwarven smith. It had Poison(5) and that was pretty much it, but it was enough. I found the Sword of the Gods, but it didn't come close to the damage of my weapon though overall it was a much better weapon. Until I came upon that 1-handed sword, I was using a 2-handed sword with max 133 damage which I gave up to use the new sword and Dragon shield.
