How do you get the chest through the rift? I put it in my inventory but when I get to the other side it's gone. I tried just putting it through, but it has an "X" on that move.

Don't worry ! Look in the room, the chest is somewhere.

I've found the chest. It's bringing it back through the rift with me that's the problem.
Sorry. I was trying to take it out of my inventory and it was never there
because it was already in a corner of the room.

Yes you did the right thing.
Take the chest in your inventory.
Go through the rift.
When you will get in the second room, the chest will disappear of your inventory and it will be somewhere on the floor in the new room.
There's no bug.
