Good luck. Your post reminds me of a thread on a different forum in which the fellow shows pictures before and after and gives his specs. Maybe you would find it interesting. water cooled

It is now 1:36 AM PST, Saturday, August 14th, 2004. Had to go to work at 6:00 PM and got home at 12:00AM. Booted PC at 1:00 AM after completing installation and confirming no leaks. Besides an incident during former heat sink removal, installation went smoothly. PC running at 83F and holding. Ambient room temperature is 79F. Condition: GREEN! Parts Removed:
Speeze Copper Heat Sink/Fan
Ultra Silver Thermal Compound
GeForce FX Generic Heat Sink
Generic Thermal Grease (which was only on the outer 1/4 of the GPU <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />)

Parts Installed
Vantec Aluminum/Gold CPU Block
Generic Thermal Grease
4 Aluminum Video RAM Heat Sinks
Vantec Aluminum GPU Block
Generic Thermal Grease

Next Upgrade Changes:
Single Stick 512 RAM > Dual Channel 1GB
Generic Northbridge Heat Sink > Vantec Northbridge Heat Sink (if a water block isn't found first)
Generic Thermal Grease > Ultra Silver Thermal Compound
Water > Anti-freeze or other high-transfer coolant
Dual Fan/Aluminum HDD heat sink > heatpipe heat sink
512MB high speed flash card dedicated to VM.
200GB HDD w/ heatpipe heat sink

I've always fancied having a go at water cooling, particularly after seeing an amazing 'open plan' caseless water cooled contraption that a friend built.

However, every time I add up the cost of the bits I work out that I can get better performance by simply spending the money on a faster processor in the first place...
