Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Act 3: Keeper Ranks - Problem with Quests!

Greetings and good evening!
In Act 3, when you are entering the contest to get to the 1st rank, or as close to it as possible, I experienced a problem which I hope was not a "fatal" error.
With the quest of the stolen goods, I had the option to KILL the mutants, or to let them go. It appears if you let them go, you get 1/2 the credit and experience for the contest. Will this ultimately make you lose when you come to the end of the contest because you need ALL the points for successful contest quests, OR is there enough contest quests to make it with this one only getting 1/2 credit? I have completed almost all the other vontest quests successfully.

You can miss a couple of the ranking quests entirely and still have enough to get to second place.

Act3 problem need help - ranking quests

I don't know how it happened, but in my game I missed like four quests and I still was able to get to the top of the rank. It could have been a fluke but I'm not one to question good fortune. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

You only need a little over 10k points (10265), so with the teleporter island quest (5k) a couple of the 2500 point quests and any of the remaining ones, 4 quests is enough to get to second place (ie up to 9 quests can be missed).

Much thanks for the reply. I do save my games frequently; however it would be most sad to go back all the way before that one quest. Further, I did not know that the recovering the ball from the well was also a quest that effected the rankings. I could not see cutting open the critter on a whim to get a ball for the brat, so being the "nice" guy I am I let it live. It's good to know that you can miss a couple of them without the "ultimate" penalty being applied against you <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

To get into first place complete as many quest as you can then when you try to leave the town, a witch will talk to you. You will then fight with her to gain first place. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

strange... i never had to face that witch to get into first place?? may have been cause i jmuped from third place to first place without seeing second place?? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

You were never challenged for possession of the DK? Normally, the witch Kiya should keep rising in rank as you do, to stay in first place until you defeat her.

BlackSamurai, I only played the English version from 1.3 on => in a very early German version Kiya didn't appear (plot stopping bug). Did you patch to 1.45? And I'm not sure, I understood your post correctly: in which position are you? She should challenge you near the billboard as soon as you are number 2 and entered the Black Temple Area.
