I found salt and sulfur, but I can't find coal. I read somewhere that the coal is in the room I killed Fergus, but I can't remember where is this room. Please help.

I found a large barrel of coal either in the room where I killed Fergus or in the room that opens when you click on the portrait in his room. Can't remember.

Return to the start of the citadel, past the area guarded by the DK patrols, where you first entered and killed a guard who dropped some citadel guard armour, which the DK told you to wear as a disguise. Take the stairs down, and you are on the starting level, with the arena, initial cell block and Fergus' room with the coal.

But you can't just pick up the coal by clicking on it you have to drag and drop it onto one of your portraits <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/freak.gif" alt="" />

I also foud coal at the very beginning.... just as you escaped from the prison area, in the room with the 5 levers (the one with the password being on a letter in the writing desk), next to the writing desk there is also coal.
