I am looking for the cause of the lava smell please help also where is the bat iguana [?]

I'm just doing those quests to <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />. I found the cause of the bad smell, it's a whole bit south of the Raanaar Library. check this

About the Bat Iguana, don't know it either. I'm still busy at that quest. But I'm sure you can find it at one of the walkthroughs, Desdemona's site is easy for finding one particular quest

Bat iguana => in witch Cassandra's house/Black Temple Area in the NW corner on the floor.

I have another question about the quest about the book you have to collect for the witch.
If you get the key of the librarian to that book, you may only look in it, you can't take it.
Is there any way that you can take the book or complete the quest without those Raanaar attacking you?

1. Use pyramid to grab the book and get away with it
2. One char at the exit, the other at the door - single mode. book char grabs - pause - exit char leaves.

They will attack and you can't re-enter, but you need not kill?
