Hi!
I´m not sure what you mean with "telenet", but there`s a programm called skype. you can use it to phone other people you know via the internet.
Hope that helps you.

No, he wants to use telnet <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />, it's something different then telenet <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.

Telnet was originally made for someone to do all sorts of things. From checking your mail to connecting to your company's server while on a business trip, telnet does it all. The makers of it had a dream in mind that the average person could deal with command/text based programs. But of course when the masses got into it and every brother and sister bought a computer, Windows was made, which totally destroyed most text based programs.

You can send fake e mails using telnet <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />, just click here for more

And you can always use google, to find some tutorials <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

well truth be told...i was taking this computer science class toward my major. I was just starting to learn about stuff this year. I happened across this instructor during one of those help sessions and so forth and he began answering most of my questions that i was having trouble with in class. I was interested in accessing the data base off campus and he said sure. He mentioned telnet and he asked if i knew what that was? I gave him a foreign look and jested with him that i could access telnet by typeing it in under start run program. I guessed right.......he said all i need was my password and login id. I didn't ask him anymore questions and left because i was in a hurry to get back to the dorm to pack up and drive 80 mph (yes i did 10 over but i switched between 75 and 80 for good measure)for 3 hours back on the express way to make it in time to wish my mom happy birthday which was on friday. i made it home yada yada yada yada blah blah blah and so forth

*time flies by as i talk* so i wanted to show my parents my first program i constructed by using telnet and guess what? I forgot to ask that one professor what to do once i get into telnet.

and that is my story
@happyflower and merendrious thanks for your responses <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
