I am writing this because I have seen a lot of posts about people having problems beating the shaman. This worked for me after about 3 tries. The first thing i did was aquire the hammer skill, and i did this by selling one of my other skills to get a couple of points back then i used them to add the shaman skill for the hammer and gave it only one point. I put my character in sneak mode and i posted my death knight deep in a corner with a shadow bow and etheral arrows. I also equipe my hero with a special spiked club (the name of the club escaps me right now) that had something like 60-134 hit strength and required a 46 strength to use. I used the hammer skill to stun the shaman and told my hero to hit the shaman while the death knight shot him with the etheral arrows. The hero alone wasn't enough to kill the shaman cause the shaman would heal himself. It took me about 6 health potions and 8 mana potions to do this. The main reason i posted the death knight in the corner instead of giving hime a shadow axe or something was because the the death knight dies a lot easier then the hero and also to save health potions. This worked for me pretty well and should help. let me know if this helps anyone out. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" />

Just a thought:
You should never, ever use a shadow weapon of any kind against the shaman since he is one 100% resistant against shadow weapons.
