i am a virgin to divine divinty but as it look like a good game loaded away

i chose my character and looked around the first room
saw the slippers ,picked them up
took the gold from the chest and up the ladder
as soon as i gert up the ladder i am in total darkness and cant even get doen the ladder again
i presume you have all got past this but if someone can help i would appreciate

You haven't patched yet, rioght ? Do yourself a favour and get the latest Patch and install it, please !

Hi and welcome in the forum.

You most likely have your shift-lock key on which puts the game in non-focus-on-player-character mode. Switch it off and the game will jump back to your player character.

thanks to both of you for your help i have just d/loaded and installed the patch i now going to try

while i have been waiting for a reply it gets very frustrating to read other peoples thgreads they talk all about things that they have come across and various problems.
this has made me so excited to play the game even more and frustrated to
