I have all the ingrediants necessary to do the summoning spell for the imp in the Ranaar academy, but the elder won't accept that I have collected them all, and just keeps telling me items are missing.

I've tried dropping the items and collecting again - no change.

I've tried giving them to each character, and approaching individually - no change.

I've tried re-loading to a point prior to collecting all the ingrediants, and the same bug occurs.

I've tried jumping to the battlegrounds and back again - no joy.

I can't continue the game at all whilst this problem is in the way. I've got the spider leg, the root, the potion, the rune... Please can someone tell me where I'm going wrong or how to fix this problem? I'm at a total impass now.

If anyone could help I would really appreciate it. I've read all the walk throughs, and all the other posts here on it, and nothing makes any difference.

I had a problem with one of the summoning tests as well, but simply moving the items in my inventory got him to recognize them. Try that; perhaps moving the items will update something that dropping them and picking them up isn't doing.

They've been shuffled more often than a pack of Vegas playing cards Nothing changes.

The only thing I can think of is that you somehow got the wrong rune. I took all of them with me, thinking I might need them later, so you might try that. If that doesn't work, maybe you're too close to him when you drop the items before picking them back up. Try moving to the other end of the level or just farther away when you drop the items. Hope this helps.

It's the wisdom rune (off the top of my head), but actually I picked up every single one anyway. I have a klepto tendency in these games. I've tried running all over the map, and even dropping and picking them up in the battlefields. It's a really annoying problem.

I gave the Wisdom rune to my hero, and the DK had the rest. The hero also had the Feynur potion, Kohar Root and spider leg. Do you have these exact ingredients? Someone had a problem with their inventory in act 2, where the Blue Larakiri Root turned into just 'Root'.

The root is still Kohar root. I just tried giving the equipment to the DK and Hero like you had, and that didn't work either.

I had the exact same problem and was able to solve it by removing all protection runes, except wisdom, and all items labeled as "root",except kohar, from my inventory. Only then did he recognize I had everything.
Meanwhile I find it amazing and frustrating how many bugs still remain, with no new patch in sight.

You mad, bad, lovable genius!

That worked!

Yes, this game is the most bug riddled game I've ever played (I guess they saved the money they would have spent on beta testing and splashed out on all the different actors they've used to do DK's voice).

I wrote to Larian days ago to ask about this bug that meant I couldn't continue at all in the game... still no response.

Poor show all round.

Sad,but understandable. If you've only played ,it must be very hard to imagine that Divine is a worthwhile game.In fact it is much more than that,it is one of the best games I have ever played. So if you find it for cheap,do yourself a favour.
