Hey, just curious if anyone knows anything about secret levels or hidden sections of the game. I believe it was Citadel Level 3, I kept getting glimpses of torches on the other side of walls that I couldn't reach. After exploring the whole level and not finding any secret doors or levers, I decided to experiment with the Teleport Hex Edit cheat that Raze posted. I started hopping around the map and came upon an area that had what looked like an exit that lead nowhere, and contained a fair amount of passages and a room with several cages that contained one monster each and a lever on the wall behind them. There was what looked like some sort of pillar in front of each and when I clicked on the monsters themselves (they were green dots on the map) they gave me some sort of message. Not being able to do anything with them, I started to explore some more, and after some wandering and a few more teleports I had killed several monsters with Crystal Balls. I went back to the room with the monsters and put a crystal ball in each pillar, and after each one the monster turned around and pulled the lever behind him. None of this appears to do anything I can see, so it must be a section that was built, but left out of the game, or no one has discovered how to get to it yet. None of this is mentioned in any of the walkthroughs and I don't see any of the sections I was in on any of the maps on various web sites. If anyone can shed some light on this it would be nice. Seeya.

There were changes made to the maps before BD was released (during game play balancing), and areas were cut off without necessarily being removed. The same thing happened in Divine Divinity; a river was added to the Dark Forest to cut off the south east corner and make the forest smaller, and at least one quest was removed (involving Buad's tea).
Presumably the crystal balls were required to open a locked door to proceed through the original level (a similar situation existed in the Aleroth catacombs in DD). Since the original maze levels were apparently larger, it may have been decided that that was too much hack and slash for the beginning of the game.

You can never have too much hack and slash. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I figured it must be something they intended to include, but decided to leave out for some reason or another. Thanks for the reply.
