Ok, this happened to me maybe 10 times. I turn on the game, go into savegames, click on my newest file. The game loads it all the way, the bar gets full, and stays full. And then the screen goes black and dumps me too my desktop.

Had the game for 2 years, never had this problem. never heard of it either. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" /> Thoguh someone else probably has had it.

Check the number of files in the saved game folder (in '..\Divine Divinity\Run\savegames'). Missing files might cause the game to crash when trying to load. A new game should have 22 files, after going to either Verdistis or the Dark Forest it should have 27, after going to both it should have 32, after getting to the wastelands it should have 37, and after getting to the Black Ring dungeon it should have 42.

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game?
If something is not interfering with the save process, perhaps the game itself is the problem. You could backup your saved games (just in case) and do a clean re-install.

Thnks, in the future Ill try that. But I had a save 10 minutes before hand, and now I am a good 10 hours farther.

I know I am a noobie here, but I had this same problem after I installed Norton Corp. 9 on my computer.

I had to go into it and make sure the auto turn on after manually disabling it didn’t turn back on.

When I did that it stopped doing this to me.

Nope, just did a new save, sorry.

Yes i know it's a shitty problom. But u can try the patch for the game. That fixed it for me, and i was also able to use the save game that was ruined.. This could realy ease ur pain.
