Ok, I just reformatted my computer.

Fresh installation if XP pro SP2
My normal of no spyware, no antivirus that interferes... its a FRESH installation, with only antivirus, updated drivers, and SP2 installed. No other programs installed yet.

Installing it on 2 different optical drives. 1. Lite-On DVD Rewriter. 2. BTC CDRW/DVD Combo

Since i own 4 copies, i have tried 2 sets of disks (one never been opened) and on both it stops at 58%

Am i missing some trick maybe? Never did this before. My PC is the exact same spec as before: AMD Athlone 2600+ Barton, 1.5 Gig Ram, Geforce FX 5700, 1 Terrabyte HDD space (they not even striped yet, where they were before)

Try copying the files off the CDs (do not need the autorun.inf file) into the same folder on the hard drive and installing from there. It doesn't sound like a problem with the CDs or drives, but that might make a difference.
Did you update the motherboard chipset drivers?

Everything is updated to the fullest... Copying it to the HDD didnt work

But making an image with ALcohol did... installation went through ok. And starforce is happy with the original cd....

I am at a loss, but got it working.

Ooooh....I wonder if Starforce has a nutty b/c you've got Alcohol installed. Beats me, but possible.

I know other copyright programs, such as SafeDisc3, just don't get along w/ Alcohol, CDClone, Roxio, and Nero -- to name a few programs.

Alcohol was not installed at the time of my attempts to install BD. I installed it afterwards, since i use it a lot with video editing, so tried it....

In my previous installation Alcohol was installed and i had no problems...

When my computer is running as it should be, i have 9 virtual drives!!!! and BD coped with that... starforce is also perfectly happy with my virtual drives... i just have to put in disc 2 like normal.

I am pleading insanity.... my computer i suppose was just misbehaving... or trying to disciplin me to play LESS games (as if that could ever work)
