Got this game about a week ago, and I'm just starting the 2nd act. What I want to know is just exactly how do you summon dolls? I've been through the whole first act and didn't see any way to do it. Also, how do you put the crystals in the bag. I can open the bag, but when I try to drag the crystal into it the bag just closes. I cant put them into the closed bag either.
Pleas Help,
Tony

have you the doll? IIRC you have just to click on it for summoning
for the bag: probably it's still open but under the inventory window... try to move the inventory window and you should be able to place the crystals...

The first summoning doll is a reward for helping cure the poisoned imp on the pit level (just after you jump down the pit in the arena). The tooth you need from the bony monster can be found on the same level.
If you have a save at the end of the first act, you can reload and go get it. The next summoning doll can be found in the spider forest of act 2.

Why not ? I've spent several points in that and I'm quite happy with it ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Yeah, so did I, I'm totally in love with my 3 summoning dolls <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> Putted a bunch of skill points in them, since I didn't know where to put in my skillpoints else. Now I have 1 extra spellcaster, and 2 extra warriors. K, the skeleton dies fast, but I love him anyway <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />.

I've "pushed" my skeleton by givint it rings of amulets with have strength boost and several other boosts. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
I only wished I had some more skillpoints - overall I think that the game gives the char a little bit too few skill points.

Ok - Thanks for the responses. I missed the first one, and I really don't feel like going thru all that again, so I'm going to forget that and get the next one in the spider forest.
Thanks Again,
Tony

You will find that the summoning dolls really have 2 uses: 1). To trigger traps 2). As mules to hold your loot
I would recommend that you do not put many points into your summoning dolls, they are just not worth wasting your points (actually I never put any points in summoning dolls anymore).
Also the 1st Summoning Doll is very useful. You will encounter several trapped areas in Act 1 where you can use the doll (parcours, the trapped hallways after you leave the room with the parcours, etc.).

Mules are not originally known in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> and <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> ... they are useful for that, but your tone sounds like there is no alternative ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" /> I thouight the devs would try to give the player the most possible freedom - that's how I always played the game. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Not sure I understand what you mean amigo... but as far as the summoning dolls go I have invested mega points into them in a couple of games and find them just a real pain to keep alive in combat situations late in the game.
I find that a Hero with max'ed skills is far superior to an undertrained Hero and an undertrained Doll. IMHO the Summoning Doll Upgrades are a waste of points no matter how many you put into the dolls (I have max'ed them in Act 5 and they are way too fragile in the dungeons there).
So that is pretty much why I feel they are only useful as mules and trap springers <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
There are some alternatives to mules of course - 1. You have the Pyramids in Acts 2 & 3 2. You have the Enter / Exit battlefields in the main game acts 1-4 3. You have the enter / exit battlefields to use within the battlefields which cuts your traveling in half
But in Act 5 all you have is the Dolls

I just never use the summoning doll I don't need anothe fragile party member who is only too eager to meet death It is already difficult to keep the two (Hero and DK) alive. It is really a headache that when one of them dies, the other will die whatsoever, isn't that annoying and rediculous.
Question: Will my mage hero cast mass healing spells thru this game?

To me, the dolls are nothing more than simply dolls. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> So I don't have "another fragile party member", no, I just have dolls. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Since you can re-summon your dolls (yea i know they have a time penalty, but thats nothing major), they handy to "feed" to monsters, while you have fun killing them. They also make BRILLIANT trap finders (the hard way) Since summoning dolls cant venture far from where you summoned them, its useless to try and make them survive for long... they are only a distraction to monsters.
I had 3 summoning dolls that i alternated as monster-food, by the time the last one is dead, the first on is ready to be summoned again.
Keeping 2 char's alive is a different mindset than just 1. You learn the value of the pause button much faster with 2 char.
Setting the ranged char (mage / archer) to non-leader and agressive mode, while your melee char (warrior / mage) is the leader gives a very big advantage. Your ranged char will automatically attack any monsters in range, killing / injuring them before they reach you.

There is one doll in each act (4 total). You can not put a doll in another doll's inventory.
