in the fort are the 3 guys that control the soldiers to attack me after I killed all the soldiers they werent anywhere around, have i missed something (cos they need bashing!!) or do you meet up with them later in the game?

You will meet these black ring members later on in the game - 2x to be exact. Killing the soldiers or sparing them and avoiding this camp is up to you, NO rep. loss. But take care NOT to kill one of the friendly soldiers outside this camp - watch your minimap showing enemies/friends closely, otherwise your rep. will drop.
