Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) General Got stuck in the spider forest

When I first enter into the spider forest(just beyond the imp cheftain's house in the imp village), all the hostile creatures there are not able to move, nor will they attack, I just kill tons of spiders with no effort. But when I came to the spider queen, she has a green circle at her legs, so I cannot attack her nor will she drop the demon doll(I cannot pickpocket this item)or the spider poison cure for the imp lying nearby. What's to be done about this?

Again in this forest, when I kill a spider that drops a spider leg, get the spider leg to the imp hero who is such a coward that he could not get the spider killed by himself. But when I try to talk to him again, the game stops, my chars won't move!! If I dont talk to this imp Hero, he will not go back home, so that I cannot complete this quest.

Firstly: do you have the latest patch? 1.45 loaded?
AFAIK, the patch fixes the monsters that doesnt attack.

If that is not the case, then try this:

Try deleting the files in the dynamic folders;
'..\Beyond Divinity\Acts\Act1\Dynamic', '..\Beyond Divinity\Acts\Act2\Dynamic', etc.
These folders are used as a cache for the game. Files are created / copied there from the save game folder when you load, and written / copied to those folders when you save a game. The files will be re-created as required the next time you start Beyond Divinity. If there was a corrupt file in those folders, deleting the files should fix the problem.

As for the IMP-Hero quest, thats a known bug. Leave your DK at the edge of the town and then use our hero to go talk to the imp. This By-passes the problem. If not, Exit to the battlefields and then come back.

Well, there is a .txt file in the dymanic folder saying "don't remove", can I just delete that?

Yes, that text file can be deleted. I think it is just there to keep people from deleting the dynamic folders, but the files themselves can all be deleted.

Do you have a save before entering the spider forest? If you reload, does this problem still occur?

Have you visited any of the other areas around the village? Doing things in a different order may help, or at least put off visiting the problem area for awhile.

The spider queen should approach in a cut scene when you get close enough. This is not being triggered properly, so she does not turn hostile.

Since all creatures won't attack, I meet no cut scenes at all, even during I complete other quest in the spider forest(to kill the vendals from the old spider and others).

When I second enter into the forest, some black spiders left unkilled will come and attack, but not the queen guard nor the queen herself. I will delete the files as recommended and if doesnot work out I will try to mail you my save folder. Well would you mind telling me your email address, Raze? Thank you for your kind help.
