how do i open the door to exit samuel's prison?

You find the key for the last door in Samuel's Chamber. Samuel's guards will drop keys, one of them will open it.

i am brand new at this stuff! long time gamer for last 30 years. new to this on line chat stuff. you said wrong place and lynn will have to move it, what do you mean

normally this belongs into the Beyond Divinity section, and Lynn is a member of the Larian Studio's Crew, and also forum moderator. So she will probably move all this to the Beyond Divinity section.
