No problem, you wont be the first to do this, and also not the last <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Merry Xmas, and happy monster slashing <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/xmassmiley.gif" alt="" />

Ok, firstly....

Are you sure that you have the 2nd CD in the CDrom? The first CD will also give disk identification errors.

There are some programs that is known to cause problems with the identification... Notrton Anti virus and Deamon tools... if you have any of these 2 installed on your computer, please close the programs (out of your system tray aswell) before you try to run the game.

If you have 2 CD rom drives, try the disk in the other CD rom and see if it gives the same problem.

If none of these sort out the protection error

If the report.txt have any areas marked "could not collect information" dont be stressed by this.... save that report.txt file and email it to support@larian.com along with a discription of the problem... They will issue a Key (the key you are looking for) according to the hardware of your computer.

This key is not compulsory... its a backup to the protection on the disk. In some cases where there are problems with the protection, they will issue the key, forcing the protection to accept your disk, whether it passes the protection check or not... But please note that this is hardware specific, something as small as changing your mouse will cause it not to accept the code anymore.

Hope this helps <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

For the protection system to work, you need to insert the CD labeled "Disc Two" (or "Game CD") and then start the game.

Before doing so, you may want to shut down programs that are known to cause protection failure, such as Norton Antivirus and Daemon Tools.

Also, if you have more than one CD or DVD drive, the protection might require you to insert the CD in the other device.

If the protection check still fails, click the "information" button and mail the generated report to our support team: support@larian.com
